Please read these rules as well as the information before signing up. This round is a free round, you can claim any movie or TV show you want to. Heck if you want you can do half and half, a movie and a tv show, icons just need to be even so 10 for TV show and 10 for Movie.





Guidelines


• Sign ups will be open for the duration of this round.
• You must be a member of Dreamwidth and a member of the community to participate.
• Please do not post your icons to this post. Please make your own post and submit it to the community.
• No claim can be chosen more than two times.
• You can change your claim at any time.
• Posting is moderated, once your post is submitted please await approval. If your post has not yet been approved within 48 hours please contact me or comment here.




Show and Movie Guidelines


• Claims can only be claimed 3 times. This is for both movies and shows.
• For shows you can claim: The whole show, a season or a episode.
• For Movies you can claim: A franchise, one movie, one or a couple movies in a franchise.
• NEW - You can now claim a character, group, certain characters or couples in a show or movie. You can do one character or however many you want from your claim, or just the whole movie and all characters. If you're unsure just ask.

Hi, yes you can claim a fandom or not claim one, up to you. Most people have just claimed a fandom when free rounds are done.

Ah, forgot to edit that, I use old coding a friend gave me from back in the day of LJ comms and keep forgetting to update. I'll fix asap.

Even if you don't make a claim to sign up, in total a person can only use 2 different fandoms over all 20 entries - it's not allowed to make a multi-fandom set where there's one different movie or show for each icon.
That's what I really meant to ask, sorry for the mix up.

It could be fun to do 20 movies or shows at once, even if you had to stick within franchises or genres. I realized I can't do this round I have to do too many things at other comms. But if you do have multi-fandom movies allowed again I may do it. Thanks! ☺️

Sounds good. I'm tempted to do a Christmas themed one with no claims in December for the whole month. But not a lot of people been signing up for the inspirational rounds I've been doing. No worries, understandable. I get that especially with the one's I have, thankfully I'm only hosting two of mine at the moment. :)

One eye - Only one of the eyes of your claim must be visible in your icon. You can achieve it as you want.
Black and white + color - In your icon should be present both b&w and color techniques. You can achieve it as you please.
Wings - Use a texture that reminds of birds. There can be actual birds, wings, a cage, feathers.
Soft - Your icon should have a soft mood. You can achieve it with colors or lightings.
Background Blend - Your claim should in a sort of way blend with background.
Full Body Silhouette - Cut out the full body silhouette of your subject. The silhouette can be plain, or you can blend textures or other images with it, as long as the silhouette shape is clearly visible.
Background Texture - A classic composition style: use a texture as the new background for your cut out subject.

I'll probably need extensions, looking at some of the themes you have proposed. Because I have a Mac, I'm working with GIMP 2.10 in order to get the G'MIC plugin to work with it. That means the selection "marching ants" don't show up, whether I have that setting turned on or off. Really makes doing fake backgrounds difficult!

Sorry about my late voting. Things have been crazy lately because my home help schedule got changed from three 4-hour days a week to four 2-hour days a week with one day's notice. That meant I had to again cancel my doctor appointment and miss getting my bloodwork done. Also, the new schedule means I go an extra day without personal care, and my body has not reacted well.

I just found out that my usual source of screencaps only has the first 4 eps of The Orville available. Know anywhere other than screencapped.net that has them available for USA citizens?

I just usually go to google and type in 'show/movie name screencaps' and galleries pop up, you can also search actors/actress names gallery and that to would pop some up, here's some I found:

Is that show good? I was thinking of trying to get into it just for Justin, then I heard they got Jensen to join which made me more happy. But didn't want to get into a new show if it only lasted a season or two.

The third season just started airing tonight actually! I've been really enjoying it a lot. It's a mystery show, but with the added element of the cases being missing persons that need found and the main character being a tracker instead of a detective. A few of the episodes do push your suspension of disbelief a bit, but if you're not super nitpicky over realism, it's incredibly fun.

Jensen Ackles plays a guest character who pops in a couple times per season. His character is funny and I enjoy his episodes well enough, but I think as someone who's never watched Supernatural I'm probably the only person who isn't very interested in his character on this show lol. I have heard that he and Justin are good friends though, which definitely shows through on screen, they play off each other really well.

If you like mystery or action shows, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. The first season is especially good. Recently, I even started reading the books they based the show on because I wanted more content and season three wasn't coming out fast enough XD.

Nice. I looked it up as I was adding you, and saw it was renewed. I might give it a go since it wasn't canceled so soon like most good shows that start out.

Sounds fun. Totally understandable. I've known him since Smallville before Supernatural, so been a fan of his since then. I stopped watching Fire Country cause they had a such a good cast already, then randomly added in Jared from Supernatural after his Walker was canceled. I hate when they do that to new shows that are going well with a new good cast. Yup, I remember hearing they were. I never really paid attention to celebs lives of characters I loved like a lot of fans did in Supernatural fandom.

I might give it a try, I was intrigued cause I loved him on Smallville as Green Arrow and he's a good actor. Oh nice, even better there are books!
